Mental Health Support Unit
Working with a mission to deliver holistic, high-quality care that addresses the Veteran's psychological, physical, and social needs, the Mental Health Support Unit (MHSU), located in the Richard B. Russell Building, will foster a therapeutic, safe environment to promote healing and recovery.

Our highly trained and experienced staff are dedicated to guiding the residents through the treatment for substance use disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), as well as the full spectrum of mental health disorders.

Providing innovative treatments, including the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment for PTSD, will assist the Veteran through processing trauma. Traditional methods including individual and group talk therapy, psychotropic medication management, and therapeutic activities, will also be employed to aid in the long-term recovery for individuals living with complex mental health conditions.

The ultimate goal of the MHSU is to provide a space where residents are empowered to regain stability, autonomy, and hope as they navigate their journey to wellness.
